The Fragrance That Remained
A man had some friends, a husband and wife, who were passing through the area. They needed a place to spend the night. He couldn’t take them into his home, so he asked his friends who lived there, Mary and John, if they would take these friends into their home for a night - give them a room and a meal and send them on their way in the morning. Mary and John said that would be fine with them. So, the husband and wife arrived at Mary and John’s house.
Mary and John set them up in their guest room and served them a delicious meal. After sharing a wonderful evening together and having breakfast in the morning, the couple said good- bye and continued on with their journey.
Later on that day, John said to Mary, “ You know that couple that stayed over last night, I don’t remember their names, …” and he sniffed around several times at the wonderful fragrance that filled the house as he said, “but they left behind the sweet-smelling aroma of Jesus.”
Would you live your life in such a way that the aroma of Jesus would be left behind wherever you go?
